Information about the United Commission of the Moscow City Duma and Moscow Region Duma on Coordination of the Legislative Activities
The United Commission of the Moscow City Duma and Moscow Region Duma on Coordination of the Legislative Activities was formed in May 1996 by the Ruling of the Moscow Region Duma and Resolution of the Moscow City Duma.
The purpose of this United Commission is to coordinate the legislative processes in the Moscow City Duma and Moscow Region Duma and to coordinate development of the draft laws in the areas of mutual interests, including cases when enforcement of a law of one subject of the Russian Federation – the city of Moscow or the Moscow Region – that anyhow interferes with the interests of the other party.
The number of members in the United Commission is not determined and is changed, as maybe necessary. The Moscow City Duma and the Moscow Region Duma elect out of the members of the United Commission one co-Chairman and one Deputy co-Chairman of the Commission.
At its meetings the members of the United Commission discuss the most acute issues of the social sphere, development of the transport network in the Moscow Region, environmental safety, innovation policy and industrial development involving the interests of the inhabitants of Moscow and Moscow Region.
